St. Patrick’s Day Punch Art Card

It’s already the 5th of March!  Absinthe Day!  And I haven’t even shared one St. Patrick’s Day card with you yet!  What am I thinking! So let’s haul out the Full Heart Punch and get started!   And let’s not just do it plain!  I’m in a polka dot kind of mood because polka dots make me smile. I think this one’s pin worthy.  How about you?  There are three pretty cool things about this card: Large Rhinestones – On sale this week for 25% off Decorative Dots Embossing Folder – Free with a $50 purchase Banner Punch – Free with a $50...

Did You Watch the Oscars?

Did You Watch the Oscars?

We missed the beginning of the Oscars, but we did watch a lot of them.  With that in mind, I told Ann that this is the card we should make because there are far more people who don’t win an Academy Award, than those who do. Shapes are hot right now, so this card with the Geometrics stamp set is just right for the trendy set.  This would be the perfect masculine card but it would really work for anyone who just hit a bump in the road. We used the Color Coach and lots of gold and yellow because that’s what the Oscar statue is – GOLD!  We used Daffodil Delight for the...

Stop Wishing! Join the Club

Do you wish you knew more about card making or need new ideas? Do you crave some of those cool hostess sets like the Making a Point stamp set we made this card with?  (It’s in the back of the Occasions Catalog and we featured it in this post.)  Does it seem like you’ll never get quite enough money or orders from your friends together to get it? Do you find yourself buying stamps and supplies most months and getting nothing for it?  Or you’re investing in your hobby, but you’d still like a bit more? Would you like to be able to have your own catalogs to keep?  And your...

Tips for Making Sympathy Cards

This is the second sympathy card we’ve made this week.  The first was put on our Master Stamper site with instructions and a video.  (Members access here.) Today’s card is made for the wife of Ann’s mechanic.  Daryl wasn’t just a mechanic to Ann & my favorite huMAN.  Daryl had been making their cars run for over 20 years.  He took really good care of the cars and always made them feel welcome by spending time to chat.  And he thought I was a pretty good looking dog. Obviously an insightful man of fine character. So here’s the card, followed by some tips for...

Sneak Peek

Tomorrow is the big day.  Ann’s having one of “THOSE” birthdays.  You know – the ones that have a ZERO in them. So while she’s resting up from Valentine’s Day and getting ready for THAT birthday, I thought I’d give you a sneak peek at one of the recent cards she made for the Master Stampers.  She made it while she was watching the new season of “House of Cards” on Netflix.  (I can’t believe the stuff she has on in MY stamp room sometimes!  Drop Dead Diva!  Sherlock Holmes!  It’s a vast array.) What do you like to watch when...

Pretty Quick and Clean Birthday Card

Ann wanted me to thank many of you for the card and emails to celebrate Ann’s birthday.  (And thank you for your orders too!)  Here’s one that my gal pal Doodles sent to Ann.  It features the Flower Shop Bundle.  You can see why Doodles and I share design tips from time to time and I huddle up with her when we’re working on our thank you cards that we mail when you shop in our online store.  You could say she’s on my design team. Hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.  I got a nice walk in the park.  Of course, my Facebook Friends would have seen that picture...

Quick & Easy Valentine Card

In case you were born last night and learned how to read this morning, it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow! Do you have your cards made?  Do you have your dinner or movie plans? Valentine’s Day isn’t just about your sweetie.  Have you made a card for a friend?  Here’s one that we did at Stamp Club the other night that was inspired by our friend Patty.  We needed a quick card to round out the night and this was it.  (I shared another card they did in yesterday’s post.) Ann & my favorite huMAN already started celebrating Valentine’s Day early by doing...

Happy Card & Anniversary Video

This has been quite a week!  We’ve been looking forward to today for a long time!  Happy 15th Anniversary with Stampin’ Up! to Ann!  You have no idea how much that means because she never liked to stay at a job more than 5 years before Stampin’ Up! and I got a hold of her. ALL anniversaries are either paper, ink or rubber anniversaries when it comes to Stampin’ Up!.  I don’t even have to look it up. So to kick off the celebrations, we’ve made a video on how to make a happy card.  I think this card is happy, don’t you?  And we’re VERY happy...

Card Design Questions for Send a Card to a Friend Day

Today is Send a Card to a Friend Day and I have some questions! What do you think about first when you sit down to start making a greeting card?  I start thinking about it long before I lay down in our stamp room and tell Ann what to make.  Do you start with the layout?  The stamps?  The colors? Right now, I’m in the middle of a discussion with my Design Team on what card to send out to our clients.  (We send you a card when you shop with us that you can keep or reuse to send to a friend.)  My gal pal Doodles and I are in deep discussions about this even now. She’s a Southern Dog...

DIY Winter Olympics Greeting Card Video

In case you weren’t aware, the Winter Olympics start tonight!  This dog is just glad that he doesn’t live in Sochi, but that’s another story.  (Read how they’re treating their dogs here.) If you’re wanting to learn how to make an accurate Olympics card, we have a video we did for the Summer Olympics in 2012 that might help you.  I’d like to see if I like rounded corners better. But first, here’s the original card. The colors?  We thought these colors worked best.  Click on the links below to take you to the card stock for a perfect match: Pacific...
